Cooking with Culbertson is a brand-new series of classes and workshops designed to improve dietary habits with easy and affordable tips for cooking and shopping. As healthcare costs continue to climb nationwide, preventative care has become more important than ever. This means starting with the basics — and as the foundation of a healthy lifestyle, nutrition and healthy eating are an ideal place to begin a journey to improved physical and mental well-being. Cooking With Culbertson will help attendees understand the nutritional challenges they face, like cost of healthy ingredients, lack of knowledge on healthy and flavorful recipes, traditional Midwestern diets, and understanding food labels.

Meet Our Dietitian

Katie Horstmeyer, RD boasts more than 16 years of experience in helping people reach their health goals by promoting a healthy mindset toward nutrition. The owner of the Central Illinois-based Advanced Nutrition Care, LLC, Horstmeyer holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Murray State University.

“With this series, I hope to teach individuals and families how to reframe their thought process away from dieting and quick fixes and establishing a healthy lifestyle that is lasting and attainable.”
