Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time, on-site Clinic Director to join our team. Located in Rushville, IL, Culbertson is a 22 bed Critical Access Hospital. JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Rural Health Clinics works under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer. The Director is responsible for the planning, organization, coordination of activities, human resources, and operational functions within the department. The Director may also provide direct clinical care as operational needs are determined. The Clinic Director creates and maintains a work environment conducive to effective communication, collaboration, team building and professionalism.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively manages the daily operations of the Rural Health Clinic(s)
- Plans, organizes, and oversees clinical staff in the provision of safe patient care, effective patient flow, accurate patient documentation and patient satisfaction
- Oversees the departments staffing requirements and prepares work schedules for effective utilization of staff
- Assists with staff recruitment, hiring and terminations
- Demonstrates proficient knowledge of Community Health Clinic practices and procedures, regulatory standards, and guidelines.
- Provides clinical coverage for patient care when necessary.
- Maintains own standard of care and competency in the clinical assessment and treatment of patients in the Community Health Clinics.
- Demonstrates responsibility for own personal and professional growth.
- Oversees the effective orientation, ongoing education, and competency assessment of staff members.
- Assists with preparing and maintaining budgets for assigned areas.
- Monitors and controls costs within department(s).
- Participates in the fiscal planning and decisions that affect Rural Health Clinic services.
- Evaluates and requests new equipment to ensure continuation or improvement in patient care needs and in line with strategic initiatives.
- Advances the Rural Health Clinics services to align with strategic services line growth.
- Develops and communicates policies, standards, and quality improvement for Rural Health Clinic services appropriate for the population served.
- Recommends and implements process improvement initiatives to improve patient care, quality and safety, and staff productivity.
- Monitors and evaluates quality and safety metrics, providing documentation to meet Quality department reporting.
- Knowledgeable of role in emergency/disaster plans and assures staff awareness of role and ability to function appropriately.
- Oversees, monitors, and complies with all infection control practices.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, visitors, medical staff, and other departments.
- Attends leadership meetings regularly and collaboratively interacts to generate ideas and outcomes.
- Always maintains patient and facility confidentiality.
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
- Actively participates in the selection of qualified and motivated staff members.
- Holds quarterly (minimum) staff meetings.
- Completes yearly evaluations for all staff members that fairly identifies individual strengths and opportunities for continuous personal improvement.
- Is involved in community/civic health matters/projects as appropriate.
- Maintains open and positive communication with local community health care providers to ensure services meet CMH operational and patient care needs.
- Makes self available for patient and family concerns with timely responsiveness.
- Rounds on patients/families daily ensuring appropriate progression of care, effective care management, and a healthy healing environment.
- Promotes an environment and holds staff accountable to provide a great patient experience.

Regulatory/Educational Requirements to Qualify:
- Healthcare and/or clinical experience required
- Previous management experience required
- Strong organizational skills required
- Current nursing license from the State of Illinois is preferred
