Location: Rushville Family Practice– Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital, Rushville, IL
Pay: $16.00 – $18.00/hour (based on experience)

Schedule: Monday- Friday | Day Shift (As coverage may be required, you may be assigned to cover other patient areas as needed)

Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time, on-site Patient Access Representative in the Rushville Family Practice location to join our team. Located in Rushville, IL, Culbertson is a Critical Access Hospital. We are looking for a candidate that wants to become a long-term member of our family and lead Culbertson for years to come. In addition to numerous community ad employment benefits, Culbertson is a Illinois district hospital which entitles all employees to participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund.

JOB SUMMARY: A Patient Access Representative is the first point of contact in a patient’s healthcare journey. They are responsible for collecting and entering correct demographic and insurance information into the database. They are also responsible for scheduling appointments for patients, answering the hospital or clinic switchboard, and escorting patients to the appropriate location, when needed. Applicant must possess excellent customer service and computer skills as well as the ability to multi-task and close attention to detail.

Duties:

• Greet patients and collect accurate demographic and insurance information
• Schedule appointments and answer calls via the hospital switchboard
• Escort patients to appropriate areas when needed
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations
• Collect co-payments and manage cash drawer
• Scan documents and maintain supply levels
• Support infection control and emergency protocols
• Recommend process improvements for patient care and safety

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service and computer skills
• Ability to multitask and stay calm in fast-paced situations
• Familiarity with hospital policies and services preferred
• Flexibility to fill in other patient access areas as needed
