National Nutrition Month — March 2025
The path to wellness often begins on our plates. National Nutrition Month stands as a testament to the profound impact of making informed food choices and developing sound eating habits. This annual observance not only promotes nutritional knowledge but also emphasizes the vitality of a balanced lifestyle.
When is National Nutrition Month?
Every March is celebrated as National Nutrition Month, spotlighting dietary habits, food knowledge, and the benefits of healthy eating.
How to Get Involved
As the outdoor temperatures get warmer and the sun stays out later, there’s no better time to engage and develop healthy habits. Here’s how you can immerse yourself in the celebrations:
- Attend Workshops: Engage in nutritional seminars or cooking classes that focus on healthful recipes. Make a plan to attend one of our Cooking with Culbertson sessions. This event is a brand-new series of classes and workshops designed to improve dietary habits with easy and affordable tips for cooking and shopping. Our next session is on April 29th at 5PM in Mt. Sterling at the YMCA.
- Commit to a Challenge: Try a new healthful recipe every week or pledge to try a new fruit or vegetable prepared a different way each week.
- Read and Educate: Pick up books or articles that enhance your knowledge about nutrition and dietary habits.
- Support Local: Visit farmers’ markets or local producers to get fresh, nutritious ingredients and support community-based agriculture when possible.
Better Together
Here at Culbertson Memorial Hospital, we are committed to keeping you and our local communities healthy by offering a variety of nutritional resources. Once a referral is received, I will call patients and schedule a time to meet with them face to face.” When enlisting the guidance of a RD, you will receive:
- Personally tailored nutrition guidance based on an assessment of your current eating habits, lab work and desired state of health.
- Sound, evidence-based advice and help to establish your own personal nutrition goals and priorities.
- Help in sorting through today’s nutrition misinformation.
- Counseling on how to shop more wisely for groceries, read labels with confidence, make healthy modifications to your favorite recipes, and make healthier choices when eating at restaurants.
- Collaborative support in creating an individualized eating plan containing the proper nutrients to help you reach your health goals.
